Sizing
Barbour Bedale and Beaufort jackets
are sized according to the chest measurement of the
individual taken loosely over normal clothing. For
example, a man with a 44" chest measurement should
wear a size 44" jacket.
The Border jacket is an oversize jacket that can be worn
over a suit or sports coat. So the same man with a
44" chest who intends to wear the Border over his
suit or sports coat should order a 44" Border
jacket.
If however he intended to wear the Border jacket only
over a sweater, he could order a size 42" jacket and
expect a comfortable fit.
Men who are tall and/or broad shouldered will often
prefer the longer length and roomier shoulder cut of the
Border jacket. The Border jacket is effectively a size
larger than the equivalent size in the Bedale or
Beaufort.
Most women will find that the Bedale jacket is a suitable
style for them because it is shorter in length than the
Beaufort, but we also find that the Bedale is popular
with shorter men and men who ride horses.
The Beaufort is an ideal all round jacket, and the Border
is worn mostly by men.
Sizes in all Barbour jackets range from 34" to
50"
MADE-TO-MEASURE
JACKETS AND COATS
If you find that the
standard sizing does not cater for your build, We will
make a jacket to your individual measurements.
Please use our on-line made to measure order form you can
indicate the various measurements required for making a
jacket to your individual specifications.
As each made-to-measure jacket or coat is individually
crafted, this service does carry a surcharge. This
surcharge is an additional 50% above the normal retail
price of the style selected, + a pattern fee of US$25.00
Special orders have to be scheduled into production
timetables, and you should expect that your special order
will take 6-8 weeks from the time that you submit your
specifications, to completion plus delivery time for your
nominated shipping method.
We ask that you take all measurements carefully, exactly
as indicated in the diagrams that we provide, since for
obvious reasons, specially made garments cannot be
exchanged or replaced, although they do of course carry
our world-wide guarantee of quality workmanship and
