One of the smaller, by Australian standards, states, Victoria is at the southern end of the eastern side of the country.
Melbourne is the capital and all Victorian destinations are within a day’s drive of Australia’s second largest city.
It is a more conservative region having developed from the gold rush days when money was abundant and large estates were established with their colonial mansions.
Victoria has an excellent road system and is easily traversed taking in a very attractive landscape from rocky and coastline to snow capped mountains, populated by attractive small towns dating back a century and a half.
Many of these small towns were once terrorized by the infamous bushranger Ned Kelly and his gang.
